Who is responsible
Techno Guru is published by Data Demon Systems Limited, which is the controller for the personal data described in this notice. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to datademonsystems@gmail.com.
Information processed when the site is used
The web server necessarily receives technical request information so it can deliver a page and protect the service. This can include an IP address, request time, requested path, browser information, and server error or security records. These records are used to operate, secure, diagnose, and maintain the publication.
Article text-size choices are stored locally in the browser. They are not sent to Techno Guru or Google. A first-party consent preference is stored when an analytics choice is made so the site can respect it on later visits. An allow choice is remembered for 180 days; a rejection is remembered for three days before the site asks again.
Messages and article feedback
If a reader emails Techno Guru, the publisher receives the address, message, and ordinary email metadata supplied by the reader. This is used to respond, investigate possible corrections, and improve the publication. The publisher relies on its legitimate interests in operating an accurate publication and answering readers.
Article feedback may be shared with the article's named author where this is necessary to consider or answer it. It is not published or attributed without the reader's permission. Readers should not send confidential, medical, or other sensitive personal information.
Optional Google Analytics
If a reader selects Allow analytics, Techno Guru loads Google Analytics 4 using measurement ID G-Q2X9S3NX0P. The purpose is to understand readership, article engagement, site performance, and aggregate use of sharing or citation tools. Consent is the lawful basis for this optional processing.
The analytics implementation may process:
- pseudonymous browser and session identifiers;
- canonical page addresses, page titles, and referring pages;
- browser, device, language, and approximate geographic information;
- session and engagement measurements; and
- limited events such as a substantial article read, the start of an article-feedback email action, a citation copy, a share method, or the domain of an outbound source.
Techno Guru does not send query strings as page addresses, the full address of outbound links, free-text form content, names, email addresses, or a site-level User ID. Health-related article reading is not used to create health profiles or advertising audiences.
The article-feedback event records only that the email action was activated. It does not confirm that a message was sent and does not include the recipient address, subject, message, or other free text.
Advertising signals and data sharing
Google advertising storage, advertising user data, ad personalisation, Google Signals, and advertising personalisation signals are denied by the site implementation. Techno Guru does not currently use the analytics consent choice to enable adverts.
Google acts as an analytics provider and may process data outside the United Kingdom. Google describes its safeguards and processing terms in its business privacy information. The publisher reviews the relevant contractual and international transfer safeguards as part of its analytics governance.
Retention
Techno Guru configures first-party analytics cookies to expire after no more than 180 days without extending their lifetime on each page view. Google Analytics event-level data should be retained for no longer than 14 months in the property administration settings unless a shorter period is practical. Aggregated reports may no longer identify an individual browser.
Operational server records are retained only for as long as they are reasonably needed for security, fault investigation, and service administration.
Reader correspondence is retained only while it is reasonably needed to answer the message, investigate an editorial issue, or support the record of a resulting correction. Routine correspondence is deleted when it no longer serves one of those purposes.
Your choices and rights
Analytics can be rejected initially or withdrawn later usingAnalytics settings. Withdrawal stops further analytics collection in that browser and the site attempts to remove its Google Analytics cookies. It does not make earlier processing unlawful.
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law can provide rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and data portability. Contact the publisher to exercise a right. A reader can also complain to theUK Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this notice
This notice will be updated when the site begins materially different processing, such as personalised advertising, contributor accounts, or newsletter subscriptions. Material changes will not be treated as permission for a new purpose.
